Yesterday the head woman at Hope Haven called twice and sucked up on my voicemail. She apoligized telling me they are usually very efficient and to call back and to schedule the services I deserve and yaya yaya...
Then early this morning another call came in, not recognizing the number I ignored it. It was the girl who did not show up last Friday. "Hi Holly...ummm... this is Ashley and I am calling ummm..." and a line about ummm scheduling hours. UMMMM... I think not. She sounds young and it is not very professional to repeat UMMM in place of a pause seperating sentences.
Am I being bitter by refusing all service? I could use it, but I have never had it so its not like I know what I am missing.

Mitochondrial Dysfunction is a very common problem amongst children on the spectrum. NEWS12 - LI Naturally host Mary Mucci spent hours with my colleague, Dr. Michael Gruttadauria and two moms of patients in his practice last week for an upcoming story on Autism and Mitochondrial Dysfunction.
"There are two boys with Autism in my practice whose moms have given them baby brothers recently. We wanted to see if siblings of children on the spectrum indeed had metabolic issues and/or Mitochondrial Dysfunction. Metametrix donated their Organic Acids Profile for both families so we could test these two babies for clinical signs of metabolic imbalance/Mitochondrial Dysfunction."
Today was one of those totally empty summer days with no therapy sessions or play dates or anything. Just me and Wyatt. I had to fill some time, so I took Wyatt on a five-hour train ride.
There were no parking spaces left. That's enough to make anyone feel uneasy. A handicap placard would have been sooo nice. But no, I had to park several blocks away. Oh yeah, it was street cleaning day, too, so I had to park even farther away. Well, it really wasn't a big deal on the outbound because Wyatt happily scampered to the train station.
All of the ticket machines were out of order. That's enough to make anyone want to turn around and go home. But the security guard said we could board the train without a ticket and that we might not have to pay. Cool! Save money. OK.
Keep an eye on the news. Hurricane Dolly is supposed to hit the gulf coast in the next couple of days. We'll just get rain and we'll get alot of people coming in from the coast (they mentioned 250 bus loads tonight). If it gains strength and hits an oil derrek or whatever it is you call it they said the price of gas could sky rocket over night. It's been all over the news. Might want to fill your tank tonight!! My stupid mother decided to meet me at Wal-Mart while she was talking about a new job just down the road. She came back on the phone with my aunt all the way through the store and the check outs which I was struggling to keep the stuff going, and controlling Michael. When I am alone with him he stays in the cart so this stuff does not happen. He got upset because I needed his bottle of water to go back in the bag because the machine glitched. He started crying and took off running. I had to leave everything with her still standing there gabbing instead of giving a damn about Michael and run after him. He made it all the way out the door and was nearly hit by a car. It has been a long time since something made me scream. I felt my heart jump into my head and everything start spinning in that brief second. I grabbed him and hugged him and just stayed kneeling outside the door holding my son tight and crying. I was so pissed at my mother. If she had just paid attention for half a second things would have gone smoothly and my son would not have just barely escaped a car
