Conference on autism will be held in September

Michael D. Powers will be the keynote presenter at a special conference on autism held at the Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel on Sept. 12.

Powers, a pediatric psychologist and the director of The Center for Children with Special Needs in Glastonbury, Conn., will be speaking on strategies to “Prevent Escalating Behaviors and Life Transitions from early intervention to Adulthood.”

He specializes in the diagnosis, evaluation, and treatment of individuals with autism and related developmental disabilities and is the author of the new book, “Asperger Syndrome and Your Child”.

The conference will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
