The internet seems to be such a big place to escape. We blog, we research, we find games. You can even find love. I wonder what I would be if not for the net. Probably some puddle watching the same movie again and again. I think I escape from all the stress way too easily with the internet. Neopets, Myspace, DeviantArt. They all provide a world to escape to and pretend that all is well.

Ever have one of those days when nothing goes right?
This all was supposed to be a play on an old BBC game show which was named "Shooting Stars." It was basically a British farce-type comedy dressed up to look like a panel quiz show. The points were meaningless (sound familiar) and the questions so unpredictable they were impossible to get right (i.e. whatever you answered I was going to come up with something else). On the show, the stars were the guests/guinea pigs and "shooting" - well, at one point the hosts would pull out rifles - get the picture?
I'm sorry, it was a BAD joke. I especially apologize to shootingstars. My only excuse is that I got a little "punch drunk" yesterday. Now, I' think I'll just go an hide for awhile.
BTW Stewie - Lois asked me to pass along a message: "Your wish is my command."

I think it's amusing, and
I think it's amusing, and certainly good to know that there was a silly ironic show in the past that had the same handle (name) as Shootingstars. I would certainly want to know! One example is, when exchange students go over to the U.K. and say, "I'm stuffed!" after a big meal, everyone snickers and laughs because that's slang over there for being pregnant. Letting us know about the name connection was a fun thing, a cultural sharing, I thought.
Gotcha - There is really no
Gotcha - There is really no one "on the Net." Sorry, bad joke. Guess you've never seen the game shows on the BBC.
