Happens to every autistic I know.  The inability to "read" another person's emotions is interpreted as bratty behavior by neurotypical society.

This says WAY more about neurotypicals than it does about autistics.

Hi. My son has Aspergers and ADHD and I get that from family members all the time. I get alot is well you didn't teach him a certain way when he was younger or this is typical behavior for boys his age. Its not typical behavior when your child has outburst of inappropriate topics. I try not to let it get to me. I try to use it as a teaching point to say to family and friends. I usually say that these caracteristics are of typical Asperger children with ADHD. Go on to point out once again what the disorder is all about. People are not always gonna understand and sometimes they can say things in a cruel kinda way not living and knowing in your situation.
