I work with autistic children and found it difficult to get toys that would engage them. There was nothing out there that catered to their needs. So I started an online toy store that has sensory stimulating toys and gifts perfect for autistic children. These toys are pretty cool on there own too. Check it out! www.focustoys.com Your feed back and suggestions are welcome.

My kids love the Creature
My kids love the Creature Water Balls. I'm thinking of the Soother Liquid Tube which I hear works best on top of your radiators since the heat aids the convection.

usical instruments are excellent toys for children with autism. They integrate the senses and can be used for language development. Wind instruments help develop oral motor skills. Drums, keyboards and xylophones are ideal for combining fine motor, visual and auditory stimulation.

I've found that the power pumper has been great for my little brother. It's pretty cool looking so he doesn't feel uncomfortable riding it around the neighborhood and it's helping him build confidence since it's the first time he can ride a "bike" independently ( Under supervision of course).
We got it from www.powerpumper.net

That's really cool. When I
That's really cool. When I was living in California, one of my best friends had an autistic son and I never knew what to get him for birthdays and Christmas. He liked Transformers, but beyond that, almost everything at Toys R Us would leave him, well... bored stiff. I think most toymakers just don't really consider the parents of special needs children as a valuable demographic, so maybe you can start a trend going here. By the way, I love that you included the “Smarty” section. There's nothing worse than seeing people assume that "special needs" means "dumb", so it's very cool to see that Focus Toys takes the exact opposite attitude.
Brilliant idea!

I liked the site, but I stay
I liked the site, but I stay away from spinning toys, they are highly addictive to zare and they make him zone out. Otherwise, good stuff.

I agree. I have a few students with seizure disorders so I tend to stay away from flashing toys and I also find them to become too stimmy for some of the students. But good tactile toys!
Your toys look really great
Your toys look really great - I love the shake shimmer rockets and the disco fans, brilliant!
Could you make the photos on the homepage clickable so that if you're interested in one of those toys you can click directly through? Just a thought because one caught my interest but then I had to figure out where it would be on the site.
I think your online store is a great resource for parents and those working with autistic chldren and other kids with sensory problems. Well done!

Holidays are the time to
Holidays are the time to celebrate, remember our near and dear ones and to share our happiness with them. The holiday season also means peak business time for retailers and wholesalers mainly those involved in the holiday gifts and decorations business. It is common practice most homes to buy gifts for the younger members of the family while also decorating the house to ring in the festivities.
Be it celebrations to mark the Chinese New Year in China & Hong Kong, or Diwali festival in India or for that matter Christmas and New Year celebration across the world the holiday gifts & decoration products business is a huge market place. The market place is one that is highly organized in the developed nations but in emerging economies like India, Brazil and Russia the unorganized sector gives the branded market tough competition. This because the pricing is cheap but quality is not good either.

You are so right about toys. My son does not play with anything except felt. That is why I started selling them. He likes Transformers, and has some, but not to play with. They are for looking at. We have them displayed nicely in his room. He has a couple of stuffed animals that stay on his bed and occassionally he will cuddle with them when he goes to bed, but mostly, they are kept on his bed so that he can look at them and to keep them away from his sister. Books and magazines and movies are his thing at home. He considers toys to be used as pretend play and he does not like pretend play. I can't even get him to dress up for Halloween, because he doesn't like to pretend. He says he likes who he is and doesn't want to pretend to be anything else. That's ok. One less costume that I had to buy this year for Halloween.

I have found the small
I have found the small windup toys from McDonalds and Burger King to be useful since thay usually hava cause and effect component. Usually the child will have to communicate with the adult to get the toy to wind up.

Nice site. I looked around a bit and did a tweet on it at www.twitter.com. I am also going to add the link to the site at my website so others will learn about the site.
I will have to check back later to see about ordering something so I can post a review.
