Has any one ever made their own weighted vests and or blankets? If you have, was it hard to do? I want a vest for Kaylee for certain..not sure about Michael yet, he may use the blanket more, but he is so attached to his current blankie, I do not know if he will go for a new one. Anyway, thinking about trying to make a vest for Kaylee but have no idea where to start.

swimsuits! dance clothes,
swimsuits! dance clothes, spandex! depends what kind of material she will allow against her skin when dealing with pressure. Remember when you wear those kinds of clothes they leave marks on your body so if you can find a full body suit from dance that would probably be the best. look in the classified ads in the papper too. Infact before buying the darn things have her test wear one first!!!! if she doesn't like it you will know because she won't wait to get off her body. try one on to see if it fits kinda deal.
Excellent ideas, thanks so
Excellent ideas, thanks so much...and I am going to look on Craig's list too, might be someone wanting to rid themselves of some dance stuff. I am glad for the warning to have her test the clothing out first....ty.
Ot says that she feels
Ot says that she feels Kaylee needs pressure more than weight. I trust Desi because she knows her kids and her business. I am going to start looking for little outfits for her at thrift stores made of the stuff biker shorts our made of, don't know the specfic name of that type of material off the top of my head, but Desi says you can find shorts, leggings, leotard type tops, etc, so I will hopefully get a chance to go thrifting a bit next week on a no therapy day or at least a one therapy day. Nana Sherri will bring Morgan and they will watch the kids while I use her car, God love her.
Yeah too bad it's not the
Yeah too bad it's not the 80s lol. That material is called spandex and it was HUGE in the 80s remember lol?
Abby go to a thrift store
Abby go to a thrift store and buy two vests that are similar, sew them together with beans or pennies or whatever inside. We've discussed this before a long time ago. That way you can see if she likes the weight. I'd hate to see you spend money on a vest only to find out she wont wear the darn thing.
I don't always have the best
I don't always have the best of memories for things, so I appreciate the reminder...great idea with the Thrift store. I will have to see when Mickey's mom will let me use her car and she can stay here...we have a Goodwill not too far off. I also found a handmedown swimming vest with built in little biker shorts, and she gets that on and doesn't want to take it off! It may suffice for now till I get out to a store. TY lov!
No problem. BTW we discussed
No problem. BTW we discussed the vests before you joined. I was tired when I posted that last night. We've discussed the blankets too, gees we talk about everything around this joint lol.
